New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Virgo: Seeking, Finding & Transcendence ~

Hello friends. Welcome to the New Moon in Virgo and also Fall “Eclipse Season.” With all of this Virgo, think of Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter.” Most of the time she’s sweet and charming, but some of the time her classmates may secretly want to trip her in the halls. 🙂 Nobody loves a know-it-all, at least not all of the time. Other people would like to try their hand too, but can feel overshadowed. I think this is an particularly apt illustration. When ego gets involved in a superiority contest of wits, that’s when things can really go off the rails. It’s the same for us. If we’re focused on our own work and transformation, that’s just fine. If we start projecting our “stuff” and heavily correcting others, we become annoying at least and destructive at worst. Virgo can be highly critical; but it’s also great for health, healing, practical matters and “cleaning up” all kinds of things, both inner and outer. It can also be floating in a steady but subtle sea of dissatisfaction, as there is clearly so much wrong in the world. Ironically, that is both the danger and point of power at the same time. As a Virgo Stellium person (Mars, Uranus and Pluto) I know it quite well.

Q: What can you tell us about the current energies? It is evident that we have been in some kind of transformational portal for several weeks now. Thank you.

A: Dear ones, thank you for your question. Your assessment is indeed correct. Whenever there is a “dismantling” of sorts, there is also a higher energetic overlay awaiting integration. That is why in moments of great shift though there may be discord happening especially of an emotional nature, there is also a higher octave present, so to speak. This shift of energies will not impact everyone strongly, however those who are energy sensitive and also on the forefront of these changes will and have been impacted. In the case of this influx, it may have forced the hand so to speak, in life areas where energies and attitudes had become rather static. Unlike other periods of great shifts in the past, the benefits of these changes for some will be seen sooner and more directly.

Our guidance in approaching month (Eclipses) is to remember to not take your own thoughts so seriously and also to “not believe everything that you think.” There is a practical quality to Virgo energy that lends itself to change and improvement. One of the shadow potentials is to fixate on changing others and/or become self-critical as opposed to self-corrective. Mercury Retrograde occurring during eclipses presents a unique opportunity to explore and possibly amend one’s thoughts and communication processes; especially in areas of negative or self-deprecating thoughts and language. – The Keepers, 8.29.16

The Sabian Symbol for 10 Virgo is: Two heads looks out and beyond the shadows. Keynote: The growth of true understanding, born out of the transcendence of duality even while immersed in the world of duality. – Dane Rudhyar

I particularly LOVE this Sabian Symbol and am glad we have it highlighted now. Why? Mercury is currently stationed Retrograde (also in Virgo,) that’s why. With so much potential to get caught up in mind and miscommunication, here we have the opportunity to rise above and transcend mind altogether. It has been said that part of the reason why Virgo can be frustrated is that it has seen glimpses of divine perfection that simply do not exist on a earthly, 3D level. To reconcile this, is one of Virgo’s greatest tasks and opportunities.

What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places, and there are so many, where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory. – Howard Zinn

It was interesting that “The Seeker” came through as the Cosmic tune. Being a seeker is normally more attributed to Sagittarius which loves learning and expanding their knowledge base, but in this case based on the Sabian Symbol it does fit. The cosmic irony that this song implies is the rather addictive nature of mind, the part that is not easily satisfied with more information or knowledge: “I looked under chairs. I looked under tables. I tried to find the key to 50 million fables.” – Pete Townshend, 1970

Remember dear readers, that Solar Eclipses are a significant cosmic “fire under the butt” for movement, creativity and envisioning. To have one accompanying a New Moon is especially potent. Get those wish lists and abundance checks at the ready! The next eclipse this month is the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on 9/16.

Happy New Moon/Solar Eclipse friends and remember to keep it Cosmic!
